Hiroshi Sugimoto reproduced Bunraku ”The Love Suicides at Sonezaki” at KAAT

Hiroshi Sugimoto reproduced one of the most famous Bunraku (a form of traditional Japanese puppet theater, founded in Osaka in 1684) plays, ”The Love Suicides at Sonezaki” at Kanagawa Arts Theater (KAAT) on August 14 - 16. He made good use of the technique of the contemporary art, and took charge of the composition, production, the art, and the image.

Also, the handbill with an illustration by Akira Yamaguchi was delivered at the theater, in which Yamaguchi depicted the scene of the love Suicide.
