Yoshino Masui was born in Yaizu, Shizuoka Prefecture in 1976. She graduated from Tama Art University's Department of Fine Art in 1999. She lives and works in Tokyo. She was discovered by Tomio Koyama at GEISAI #6 in 2004. Animal such as the horse and the cat are drawn as small items in the background of a soft color. This is the first solo exhibition in Kyoto for Masui. The detailed drawing in lines reminds me of Yayoi Kusama's work. However Masui's works are not obsessional like Kusama's ones. There is an extension of the painting space liberated by the accumulation of exact drawing in lines.
