minori was born in 1981 and completed MA at Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts and Music in 2006. Although her works seem flat and smooth, there are always spatial senses to be felt because of the layers of colors and subtle contrast of lights and shadows she creates. For the recent years, minori is more focused on scheming colors in order to produce visually perceivable rhythm and tension on the painting surface. It is as natural and pure as living itself for minori to find and extract colors from the world and recreate them on canvas

For instance, you must walk on white lines in a crosswalk. If you step off, you would die. Some colors are as serious as that, so I have to keep paying attention to my surroundings.

There are going to be several brand new pieces for the coming exhibition “stepping colors”, composing the whole space as a piece of work.
