The project is called: ‘Nara Art Prom 2010’ (NAP). The Great Nara Basin Frontier’ is the first project title and refers to the meeting of the old traditions of Nara with art of the present day. Creative energies stored up over the years in the Nara Basin will be released into the city this October, flooding it with contemporary art. Visitors lost for a while in a city seeped in the nostalgia of 1300 years of history will in their wanderings come across a variety of contemporary art exhibits. The Nara Basin will be a crossroads of past and future; visitors will experience both the depth of its history and up to date art.
