Opened in the shopping street of Motomachi, Kobe in July 2006, as a contemporary art gallery, Gallery Yamaki Fine Art holds seven project exhibitions a year. It focuses mainly on European and Japanese artists’ works, including Claude Viallat and Louis Isadore Kahn both of whom were members of the late 1960’s French art movement “Support/ Surface”. Moreover, it regularly holds exhibition-related events such as lectures and performances. It is great to be able to see the works of famous artists owned by the museum on the corner of a shopping street. Among the represented artists are Luois Cane, Lucien Herve, Lee Min-Ho, Frederique Lucien, Louis Jammes, Jean-Michel Alberola, Florian Sussmayr, Veronika Dobers, Claude Viallat, Hiroyo Kotani, Sadaharu Horio, Miho Kyotani, Nobuko Watanabe, Saiko Kaito, Rie Suzuki and Yoshiki Hase.
