Mario TAUCHI (1973-) is an artist who draws Mandala as shapes derived from his own body. From his early days, he had met various philosophies, as well as religious, tribal and psychedelic arts where he had spent hi boyhood. He started drawing in 2001 when the image of Mandala had gotten him. Since then he has given many solo shows and the live-performing events with various musicians and other kinds of performers. in cities such as Tokyo,London, Amsterdam and Hong Kong .

Recently, he had picked up by UNIQLO's T-shirts project, Published "Mario Mandala Colouring Book" (Trolley Books/UK). and designing clothing like yukata and books. These works draw attention especially of young people.

It is our pleasure to introduce his propagative biomorph: Mandala as wriggling microcosm.

Born in Saitama/Japan, grown up in Japan, Paris, Melbourne and Philadelphia -- influenced by religious art, philosophical thoughts, tribal and psychedelic art. Now lives and works in Tokyo. Started to create the "mario-mandala" images in 2001. Exhibited and performed in Tokyo and other places in Japan: Published "Mario Mandala Colouring Book" (Trolley Books/UK) in 2007. Exhibited and Performed (action drawing) in London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Hong Kong. Picked up by UNIQLO's T-shirts project. Performs at numbers of live-performing events with various musicians and other kinds of performers.
