Exhibition of Books
Editor's Note

This exhibition is to show and sell the specially-made box in which the photograph of travel, letter, picture postcard, and pocketbook by an art critic and poet, Shuzo Takiguchi, are put together (published by Keio University Press, 2009). As suggested in the exhibition title, the exhibits we should not miss are the picture postcard and letters to his wife, Ayako Takiguchi who was his wife and what should be seen in this exhibition be a letter though it is an exhibition of the book. It is possible to find his unique taste in the choice of the postcards, which makes us remember that Takiguchi had made a handmade liberty passport before. We can experience for ourselves “his gaze in travel” by looking through the postcards delivered on the trip. I recommend you to send a picture postcard to someone if you visit to this exhibition on a trip as sending your gaze on the trip. If you also visit to the exhibition of Yuko Kanamori currently held in Gallery Hosokawa by March 27, you find a different concept of books from the documentation by Takiguchi.
