TOUCH WOOD: “more trees” Charity Photo Exhibition
Editor's Note

Part of the admission fee of 500 JPY and the payments for photographs (if bought) are contributed for a domestic tree-felling promotion. In that sense, this exhibition is an exhibition with strong charity background. However, each photograph of the forest was impressive, and the photograph frames specially produced by using the wood produced from the tree-felling operations seemed to suit the exhibition’s purpose. Personally, it was a great chance for me to see the photographs of Itaru Hirama, which are pictures of the “Baodori” dance performed by Min Tanaka. The relation between the forest and human beings is certainly recorded in the work, though it has been almost lost now, and the photograph seems to convey the smell of the soil.
