The exhibition title “Tosho-mono” means by books. The “-mono” means by a story. This exhibition showcases books in an installation and an image screening, which aims at arousing our memory or the stories of books. The exhibition is carefully delivered the sign of the stories by projecting an image to the wall of the gallery and a large-scale book placed on plinth of table stand, and arranging small articles such as clothes, book objet around it. However, those exhibits that seemed to independently be exhibited suddenly come out on the image screen. The exhibition space is then intertwined to the image space mutually. You will notice that it is in the story and the time that the image and the installation produce as the image goes on. The point to hint the event that was here before as traffic of image and objet as seen in that the gallery space appears as a stage of the image recollects the work of Rebecca Horn. If you also visit to “Exhibition of Books” currently held in Port Gallery T by March 27, you find a common aspect with this exhibition.
