Opened in 1975, Gallery Kaze initially held mainly project exhibitions of objective painters including Kunio Makino, Koji Kinutani, and Yoshihige Ando. From 1984, the gallery started to introduce contemporary artists such as Takeshi Shinohara, and HUANG Rui. Over the following 30 years, the project series ‘Neo Abstract 21’ was born, and this increased the opportunities to introduce Asian artists such as Kazumi Nakamura, Mio Kaneda, and Midori Terashima.
Gallery Kaze is also promoting the "New figure excavation project" as a young male artist support plan, which attempts to support and promote young artists by holding solo exhibitions or group exhibitions in the gallery. It is also considering holding such exhibitions in domestic and foreign art fairs. Because this gallery, with its long history, supports young artists based on the accumulated experience, we will become witnesses of the artists’ progress.
Among the represented artists are Kunio Makino, Yoshishige Ando, Takeshi Shinohara, Huang Rui, Yuko Nagayama, Kazumi Nakamura, Mio Kaneda, Midori Terashima, Ryuhei ' Rex ' Yuasa, and Hideho Takasu.
