Opened in April, 2009, this gallery is managed by AKAAKA ART PUBLISHING, Inc. which publishes art books mostly on photograph collections. The vast space, which used to be old print shop, contains a certain dynamism and beauty which makes us expect more than a mere photographic exhibition. On this site, we can witness the further development and publication of photograph collections and art books by young photographers and artists.
Gallery relocates to Roppongi, Tokyo in September of 2011.
In the annex there is a shop where publications and exhibition-related products of the publishers can be bought.
The artists whose publications AKAAKA ART PUBLISHING has handled in the past are as follows; Masahi Asada, Miyako Ishiuchi, Naoki Ishikawa, Yoshihiko Ueda, ERIC, Atsushi Okada, O JUN, Koichi Kuroda, Eriko Shiga, Seiji Shibuya, Nao Tsuda, Yuhki Touyama and many.
