From exhibition works

Yusuke Kasahara has been developing a new approach to the theme of the nature of human vision and deepening his own view of sculpture ‘that which exists in a space where image and reality are mixed’.
For this exhibition he uses photogrammetry, a technology that uses computer analysis of photographic images to create 3D models of people he has interacted with directly, which are then output in to real space. The unidirectional shape of the 3D cutting process and the low-resolution abstraction, which makes it impossible to identify individuals, reflect the objective point of view inherent in the camera. They reinterpret our perception of otherness and distance, and question how our bodies perceive visual images. At the same time, it explores the possibilities of reality that remain in the medium of sculpture today.
