Koga Tobu exhibition ” with cube ”
Published: July 18 2021

" Swaying tree in winter - a field - " (a part) sumi, acrylic, oil stain, paper, wood Φ1800×h2670mm 2020

A Cube which is a hexahedron made up of flat watercolours. This is the basic unit of Koga’s artistic expression. The cubes are placed on top of each other and overlap to create a ‘place’. As they unite a space between 2 and 3 dimensions, they absorb the universe inside and infinitely change the relationship between themselves and so to create a variety of expressions of this world. Nature, relationship between nature and humans, society that we make and the harmony or the friction that arises there. And the fact that they are constantly changing without stopping. The charm of Koga’s work is that it evokes the real ‘place’ in which we live with abstracted forms and colours.
