" equipoise " (a part) mixed media, 2021

Haruho Ueda weaves together human physicality and fossilized emotions by moulding her own body. In her sculptures she engraves her ‘cries’ and ‘emptiness’, which are contradictory and also constantly reversing each other. The black and white monochrome is 100% reflection and absorption, it is not a colour but at the same time it contains all colours as well. When the physicality that emerges from the prism that lies within interferes with each other, forgotten human emotions start to crystallise. Haruho Ueda tries to make visible the meaning of ‘things that already exist naturally but cannot be seen easily’ and facts that have been feared and so cut off from society.
