For the life to avoid the blockade of the seeds and continue to survive environmental changes, it willingly needed to accept the risks of catastrophe such as genetic shuffling by interbreeding and gene mutation. Painting too as an artistic activity of human beings need to overcome the blockade of the ‘pure painting’ that modern thought has searched for. For that we need to make the power of absurdity into our guidance and puts the system that is constructing the work together into the state of catastrophe, and Takahiro Okubo believes this is what carries the future.

Okubo went through technical experiences as ‘automatism’ that was tried as a critical re-questioning of painting subject and ‘all over’ that renounced illusions as perspectives. And finally he tried revolting against the biggest example ‘flatness’ that was based on the early modern and modern painting. Opening the body of painting as breaking the hierarchy that was constructed on the rectangle gathering to the top from the bottom rims and joining together what is opened and what is not, and then folding them into three dimensional... if we can create this three dimensional painting into the space which holds people within, it means we are getting closer to the origin of art that painting and architecture once were one. This is re-questioning why painting is all important for human existence.
