The Sato Museum of Art was founded by Sato International Cultural Scholarship Foundation in 1990. Its purpose is to contribute to the promotion of mutual understanding through international exchanges in art, and the number of artists it has supported so far exceeds 280. Exhibitions introducing present and past scholars are actively held. Since the beginning, when the works "Japanese Paintings-Flowers and Greenery” from an international exposition of flowers and greenery (HANAHAKU) held in Osaka in 1990 were donated, the Museum has been continuously collecting modern Japanese paintings on the theme of nature, especially flowers and greenery.
