Yuri Hasegawa, (b. 1978, Mie prefectural) graduated Tokyo University of the Arts in 2002, and expands the way of expression with enrolling the 8 week filmmaking workshop at The New York Film Academy (Los Angels) after graduating university. Recent years, her main motif has been "clouds" which change every seconds as we are. Her paintings, scenes with clouds, indicate we won't see the same scenery ever again. "Upon the sky, there are always clouds looming over and changing each and every second. They are ephemeral and we won't see the same clouds ever again. We, human can't stay the same. We are changing day by day and reaching to "0". When I look upon the sky, my thought goes out to the being of clouds as if they symbolize this world. Clouds exist just the same wherever above each of us, soldiers being pulled into wars, enjoying cycling, working, dancing or suffering... Clouds and the world beneath the clouds. I want to cut and leave as paintings the scenery of combination of these two which can't stay the same." There will be exhibited mainly new works this exhibition. * The text provided by Bambinart Gallery. Opened dates: October 23 - November 13, 2010 |
