AI KOWADA GALLERY is pleased to present the first solo exhibition of Nao Yoshigai. Its theme is “breath”, and we will show her several video works about “breath”.This exhibition is composed of her four films, including “Hottamaru Days” which received a new face award at the 19th Japan Media Arts Festival. And her latest movie “Breathing House” is coming out at this exhibition for the first time. — Program (60 minutes in total): Some rules in the morning / 3’26” / 2011 I want to go out / 6’55” / 2014 Hottamaru Days / 37’11” /2015 Breathing House/12’12” /2017 — Nao YOSHIGAI Dancer/Film director. Born 1987. After having studied about dance at Japan Women’s College of Physical Education, she went to Graduate School of Film and New Media, Tokyo University of the Arts.She expresses the time to focus on “watching and listening” as a motion picture, based on physical sense and phenomena unique for living things.Received a prize at Film Competition for Imaginary Film Music, Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media [YCAM], 2013.Received a new face award at the 19th Japan Media Arts Festival for “Hottamaru Days”, 2015.Held the exhibition with OJUN, “From Hottamaru Days–OJUN and Nao Yoshigai-“, 2016, at Minatomachi Art Table, Nagoya.
