The alternative art space for the 21st century, 3331 Arts Chiyoda, joining art, people and community together, will be the host as of 18th March 2011 of a group exhibition “Social Dive Exploratory Imagination”, introducing young artists whose work engages upon a deep level with society. These artists take a step into society, provoking action in the social field and raising questions of the social system. This exhibition is a ground breaking project which brings an exciting range of young artists together who develop work through building relations with the people and places of local communities and by which raising the power of imagination. Throughout the exhibition a full program of events, including artist talks, will be offered in order for audiences to appreciate more closely the creative practices showcased here. This exhibition is being realized by the members of 3331 Arts Chiyoda’s original education program “ARTS FIELD TOKYO”, who are not only exhibiting their own works, but joining together to organize the overall exhibition, inviting guest artists and collaborating with a wide range of people to realize this project. There is no replacing in daily life when it is calm and peaceful. The desire becomes strong not only in Japan but also in all over the world due to this earthquake. In this situaion, this exhibition is worth visiting by the thoughtful content which considers houses and whereabouts, and the people who live there. It is an exhibition that makes us reconsider the place where will live in the future.
