Opened as a gallery with a 7m high ceiling and 420㎡in total floor space, and renovated from a factory in May of 2006 in Kashiwa, Chiba, Takuro Someya Contemporary Art (TSCA) has been pursuing a form of spatial representation with its represented artists that is surely unique. The exhibition in this unique space is a starting place for young artists to pursue various possibilities, and TSCA tries not to be restricted by fixed ideas and existing ways of expression. TSCA moved to Tsukiji, Tokyo in the autumn of 2009 to create an environment providing a meeting point for more people. It is trying to explore the possibilities of the art that arises from communication, besides holding exhibitions, and seeks to expand its activities in the future to become more than just an art gallery. Amoung the represented artists are Antena, Ryuta Iida, Satoru Tamura, Naoki Honjo, Tomokazu Matsuyama, Yoshitaka Yazu, and Mai Yamashita + Naoto Kobayashi. Address: Tsukiji KB Bldg. 1F, 1-5-11, Tsukiji, Chuo-ku, Tokyo |
