Hiromart Gallery is pleased to invite you to The Collection Show scheduled from January 6th to 27th. The show consists of artworks by the artists we hosted and worked together in 2012. The same as the previous year’s collection show, the artworks can be purchased on the spot, and also we will stay OPEN LATE on Wednesdays until 8pm for much-loved Gallery Night. We hope the show will be a good opportunity to show our artists’ artworks in one place and to introduce the gallery projects in 2012.

Sebastian Piras is an Italian-born, New York City-based artist who has exhibited his photography and film work internationally. Early on in his career, Piras was encouraged by Andy Warhol, whom he met through Robert Mapplehrope, to focus on artists’ portraits. This led to his well-known series “Artists Exposed”, captivating portraits of known and emerging artists and heavy-hitters in the international arts scene, including Andy Warhol, Roy Liechtenstein etc. David Ross, former Director of the Whitney Museum, heralded Piras\' photos as, \" ...probing and extraordinarily beautiful portraits of artists...that ultimately produces winners at both ends of the camera.\" These photos have been published in two books: Artists Exposed and A Pocketful of Contemporary Artists Portraits, using images taken from 1986 till 2006.

Yuka Goto (b. 1978 in Tokyo) graduated from the Musashino Art University, Painting, in 2002. Her “Manhole-no-nazo (The mystery of a manhole)” won the AX Manga newcomer award and the Minami Shinbo award in 2000. In 2002, her work is accepted for the choice. Her debut solo show held in 2002. She made a shutter mural on a bookstore, paintings for animation music-video, also attended many art projects. In 2007, she made and released Zines with NYC-based artist Misaki Kawai: MIX JUICE -2007, Nijiiro Kousaten - 2008. Most recently, the Musashino Art University hosted the solo-show of works by Yuka Goto in 2012. Currently she is writing the serial comic Uchu-shoujyo Anita from AX Seirinkogeisha. She is the author of Seigitai 1, Seigitai 2, Seigitai 3, and Seigitai 4, and a painting book Tetsudou Gashu.

Tomohiro Koizumi (b. 1969 in Niigata) graduated from the Senshu University. While a student, he studied oil paintings from a society of art study in the Senshu University. In 1993, he received the Chiba Tetsuya grand prize award at Young Magazine and made his debut as a cartoonist. In the same year he also started a band and annually performed in overseas, such as Taiwan, U.K and Hong Kong, until 2002. When the tour was offered for the event “Japan 2001”, his drawing class was also held at the Brighton Museum and Gallery in U.K. He is also works as a independent filmmaker since 2000. His representative comic Seisyunn☆Kinzoku bat, Life is dead, Nagisa no mermaid were made into films. Currently, he is writing for magazines (AX Seirinkogeisha etc), and is a lecture of cartoon class, semimonthly at Ikebukuro Community College since the fall of 2011.

Ritsuko Sato born in Fukui, she grew up in Onomichi, Hirohima Prefecture. She is currently living and working in Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture. She has graduated from the Nagoya Woman’s University and also studied at the Art Students League of New York.
Her artworks exhibited at the museums and galleries in both domestic and international, such as solo-shows at the Kurashiki City Art Museum, Nagi Museum Of Contemporary Art (Nagi MOCA) in Okayama, Fukuyama Museum of Art in Hiroshima, Philadelphia International Institute Gallery in Philadelphia, Caelum Gallery in New York and Ira Pinto Gallery in Washington, and various group shows including the shows at the Salmagundi Club in New York where she has been an artist member. She has also received many art prizes.

Robin Fry (b. 1976 in Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada) studied painting at Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design and the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. Receiving his BFA from NSCAD in 2002 he moved to Toronto where he focused on producing and exhibiting painting, sculpture and video. His solo exhibition was held at Paul Petro Special Projects Space, Hunter and Cook gallery in Toronto and Helen Pitt Gallery in Vancouver. He was also involved with various experimental music groups.
In 2009 he moved to Berlin and is currently living and working in Berlin, Germany.

Claudia Ahlering (b. 1972 in Diepholz) studied Fine Arts and Paintings since 1991, including scholarship at the École-des-Beaux-Arts in Paris. In 2004, Ahlering received the Elysee-Price for figurativepainting in Hamburg. She had 7 solo-shows at galleries in Hamburg, London and Tokyo since her debut solo show held in 2004 by Kunsttreppe Hamburg. She also exhibited at numerous group show both domestically and internationally.
She is currently living and working in Hamburg, Germany.

Ki Yoon Ko studied Painting at the San Francisco Art Institute, San Francisco, Ca, Illustration at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, and Painting & Printmaking at the Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Va.
His first solo exhibition was held in San Francisco in 2000. With this as a beginning of his art career, he exhibits internationally at variety group and solo shows held in Europe, United States and Asia. Since 2005, his paintings are presented at the International Art Fairs such as Art Brussels, Arco Madrid and so forth.
He is currently living and working in Hamburg, Germany.
