お陰さまでNroom artspaceは2012年5月に3周年を迎えました。7月からは内容も一新して、作品のクオリティはもちろん、表現者としてより高い意識を持ちながら制作を続けているハイレベルな作家を中心に、ご紹介していきたいと思います。

昨年より個展やグループ展・アートフェア等、様々な機会にギリシャ人作家の作品を取り上げてきましたが、７月と9月にはリニューアル記念展として、2回に渡るギリシャ人アーティストのみのグループ展を行います。

7月のvol.1では、今年3月に個展を行い、Nroomよりアートフェアにも度々出展しているヴァネッサ・アナスタソポウロウに加え、新しくヴァリー・ノミドウ、ディミトラ・マロウダの２人を迎えて、繊細でデリケートな感覚を持つ３人の女性作家の作品をご紹介致します。確かな技術と経験に裏付けられたセンシティブなニュアンスをお楽しみください。

Magicians we become and materials become our wand! Creating seemingly imaginary worlds with alchemy, we transform and transubstantiate what we know, striving to embrace reality through alternative paths.

Female figures and dolls. The toys of our past are reappearing altered, transforming our memories into a new context that the boundaries between dream and reality are difficult to embrace.

Gardens and utopias, our deeply hidden Arcadias. An ongoing process of constantly defining and re-defining ourselves and the others- the other.

Beds that turn into nested forests and heroes awaiting for their metamorphosis; domination of the inapprehensible fascinates and terrifies; trees with magical roots and fruits, with messages, wishes and hope;
Protection or suffocation.

Images that focus on the apparent and the concealed, the everyday and the unusual, on spaces and places in-between fantasy and reality.

That all at the same time and each one individually, question our rites of passage in time and space.

With a painstaking obsession in fine detail .
