Gallery Strenger is pleased to announce the first exhibition with Inge Hørup, Danish female artist . She is widely acclaimed in Denmark and abroad for her paintings, sculptural works and decorations. She has also designed posters for the Danish Animal Protection Agency, the AIDS Fund and many others. Currently, she is working on a church project in Jutland, Denmark. Outside Denmark, she is well known from exhibitions in ermany, Holland, Norway, Sweden, Saint Petersburg, Russia, Belgium and France. She established her studio in France in 1998 and, in 2001, a further workshop in Denmark. Inge Hørup was born in 1958 into a family where both parents were painters. She went to an Art Academy for children, and, subsequently, the Danish painter Ulrich Kvist was her teacher from 1981 - 1986. She is partly self-taught. Her professional career began in 1984. Her favorite themes are animals, masks and living beings - but the real focus of her work is the role of women in the world. Her paintings reveal and express the female aura with all its colours, poetry, temperament and variegated facets Love, Poetry - and Order in Chaos

"Inge Hørup's paintings are a world full of love and poetry. Expressive - with woman as a vital focal point in a space filled with glowing colours."
This is how Knud Grothe describes Inge Hørup's art when she exhibits her works at his gallery in Charlottenlund, Denmark:
"A Hymn to life"
"Inge Hørup is without doubt a painter of joy and zest for life. Looking back in time, it's obvious to talk about A Hymn to Life. It has for years been shining out through her choice of motifs, but just as much from her love of and skilled ability to manipulate colours.
For a period of a certain seriousness informed her canvasses to a level where form and content, line and colour synthesized. In effect, particularly in the case of her smaller works - often sketches on their way to evolving into larger paintings - these could sometimes knock over the observer and transport him somewhere elsewhere. More recently, she has favored a more restrained palette and the immediacy has softened. It is also evident in her brush strokes, akin to a fixative, which permit her latest works to project an astounding life and substance".
Priest and Art Reviewer
Peder Svejgaard Pedersen. Denmark.
Order in chaos, beauty and an original Imagination are other hallmarks of the artist's many works. Since her debut in 1984, Inge Hørup has undertaken numerous and varied decorative and design commissions concurrently with her many exhibitions. Her warm and vivid works have been much in demand by major Danish companies and Institutions, including Tele Danmark, Kromann & Münter, Danish Technological Institute etc... * The text was provided by Gallery Strenger.
