Celadon vase with long neck on globular body, Longquan ware , Southern Song dynasty, 13th century [National Treasure] copy right(c) Hara Museum ARC

To be displayed at the Kankai Pavilion for the first time is a work that has been designated a National Treasure: the celadon vase with long neck on globular body. This piece from the Hara Rokuro Collection is a noted masterpiece even among the many beautiful celadon vases that have come down through the ages. In addition, there will be on view works from the Collection associated with the spring season. As a counterpoint, there will also be selected works of contemporary art from the Hara Museum’s collection. The aim of this contrast is to spur a dialog that transcends the historical expanse between the early modern era and the contemporary era. * The text was provided by Hara Museum ARC.
