Opened in 2009 as a place where art is sent based on small space in residential areas in Yokohama. The gallery name “blanClass” refers to an empty classroom. Previously, this space used to be one room at the contemporary art school “B colloquium Learning System”.

blanClass aims to focus on the parallel coexistence of various artists, specialists, students, and researchers while also valuing the resulting conversations and communication between these groups rather focusing solely on the results alone. A one-night event and open interview event called “+night” is held on Saturday every week. The progress of these interview events can be viewed in the hall itself or on the Internet as they are streamed online in real time. Their archives are also open to the public, and all interviews and performances can be viewed at any time.

In addition, exhibitions, workshop, and an English class “+ AET” (Artists’ English Training) are also held.
