Opened as "Sukiyabashi Gallery" in Ginza, Tokyo in 1948 and then renamed "TOKYO GALLERY" in 1950, the focus of its activity has been on contemporary art since 1958. TOKYO GALLERY + BTAP introduces not only Japanese art but also the contemporary art of South Korea and China, and is proud of its eminence and performance as a contemporary art gallery of Asia. TOKYO GALLERY + BTAP opened "BTAP (Betapp)" in Dashanzi Art District of Beijing in 2002. It is said that this large art area where the atelier, the gallery, and the cafe are gathered around Beijing798, was born from "BTAP". It participates in art fairs around the world and is devoted to showing the contemporary art of East Asia to the world through its eminent Asian network.
