An art critic, Akihiko Takami was died of liver cancer at the age of 55. Takami was widely know by art criticism on Japanese and Asian contemporary art on BIJUTSUTECHO, and also as an art critic who evaluated one of the best-known Chinese contemporary artists, Cai Guo-Qiang in his unknown preiod when Cai was studying in Japan (1986 - 1995).
