Opened in Yushima, Tokyo in 1982 and relocated to Ginza, then Yasu, and then to Hacchobori in July of 2010 when they also changed the gallery name from "BUNKYO ART" to "FUMA Contemporary Tokyo／BUNKYO ART" in July of 2010.
FUMA Contemporary Tokyo／BUNKYO ART specializes in contemporary and modern art from the period since the war, and is devoted to introducing domestic artists through exhibitions and domestic and foreign art fairs. It also cooperates with art museums by introducing talented artists and providing necessary information or documents.
Among the represented artists are Umba, Azusa Yasuda, Mikiko Kobayashi, Kaori Sasaki, Sachiyo Aoyama, Yaeko Suzuki, Yasushi Yamauchi, Tomoko Aso, Tatsuya Mukaiyama, Natsuko Houjo, Jiro Oyamada, Kei Hiraga, Masao Tsuruoka, Taizou Yoshinaka, Kuniyoshi Kaneko.
