Opened as an art souvenir shop and gallery café “Fukagawa Ippuku” for sightseeing in Fukagawa in October, 2006. The building is an old renovated dispensing pharmacy shop in the shopping street in Fukawaga Shiryokan-dori. In March 2011, Fukagawa Ippuku was reopened as “Art Labo Fukagawa Ippuku”. With “art”, “café”, and “relaxation” as its focus, it reopened as an experimental community store where people can find a new style of “Ippuku” (rest), and as a place that will be conducive to the people who would like to do so. It provides various kinds of facilities, including a gallery for exhibitions and a rental art space, a café where you can enjoy sweets made by the “atelier Va au Four”, various events such as a live music concerts or talk shows. There is also a bookshelf called the “Bookshelf of Ricochet” where you can buy books recommended by Ricochet which manages the circulation of wholesale of art books and photograph collections. There is a small rental shop gallery “Otana Gashi” that offers artists’ bookshelves made from cryptomeria as rental boxes, as well as a relaxation shop for fortune-telling, and others.
