Koji Noyori is the artist who constructs the world by tricky composition and playful mind. He often creates the unreal place painted by his unique touch and matiere with mixing oil painting and sand. His landscape is surrounded by thick silence and seemingly the time is stop. The special time for him is flowing slowly there.

We will exhibit about 20 works in this exhibition.
In his canvas…
The train is running along the coast.
The air-plain is taking off from an island under cloudy sky and the ship is going along with it.
You will imagine about the passenger who rides on somewhere and swims with the silent flow of the time if he / she goes to meet someone or it is the way to another town etc.

In Noyori’s world, the motif is sometimes not drawn directly (the shadow and light, etc) but eloquently tells the scene.

For example, you can feel the warm sunlight of the afternoon from the table where the shadow of the window reflects and the swinging curtain seems to tell us that comfortable summer wind is blowing in. We can perceive the calm breath of the season there as if we see the sun clock or notice the change in the color of the leaf.

For this exhibition, Noyori managed to create his works in the new shape of support that is to say the circle, square and deformed rectangle. He was conscious of these shapes and put motif in there. Then the work’s composition was more refined.
Round clock was painted in the round canvas.
Square swimming pool was painted in the square canvas.
It can be said the echoing world like coupled mirror represents his work’s illusional character.

The clock hanging in the room in the round shape points to the artist’s birth time. Hereafter, something is starting. You will feel special flow of the time.
