Suuri Maruyama is a promising young artist, born in 1979 in Tokyo and finished Master's course in Tama Art University Graduate School in 2007. Maruyama explains the concept of this solo exhibition as follows; I want to express the world which is seen and felt by the individual person not subjectively but objectively. It is not "how I see it" but more like "how it looks", rather passive manner. So, when I work with someone who is the motif of my work, the distance to that person is not getting closer but getting further and further. Everybody has something within themselves that can link to the real world and something that can not. In my recent theme "fading out people", I am trying to express such connection to the real world and lack of it. I hope I can express "reality without real feeling." Please come to my exhibition and see my works.
