Opened in December 2009 in Kiyosumi-Shirakawa as a gallery managed by the four photographers, Akihiko Saito, Gen Sakuma, Yohsuke Minato, and Toshiya Murakoshi. Kaori Yoshiwara has joined to the member in November of 2010. They aim at presenting photographs outside any stereotypical way, planning two kinds of exhibitions: one by their regular members, and others by an artist selected and invited by each regular member. They also produce publications.

The gallery name ”TAP” comes from their wish that the gallery should focus on wide range of activities including publications by liberal photographers as being young like the teens.

There are two kinds of "performance" for a musician; recording a performance in media such as CDs, as well as performing music in a concert in front of a number of unspecified people in a hall. Each performance is planned as a different listening experience. There are also two modes of photograph expression for a photographer; either holding a photograph exhibition or publishing a photograph collection. Some photographers try to distribute their photograph collections to the public by hand without relying on any publishers. The attempt of TAP members seems rash and bold, but we may able to see a new expression in it.
