Marie Goto was born in Mie prefecture in 1976. She graduated from Nagoya Zokei Junior College of Art & Design in 1997, the next year, completed the postgraduate. She is making works based in Nagoya city while working at University. In 2007, she showed the work which is called “rest day of beans shop” for 11th Shinsei-ten, and received the grand prize because of it won the hearts and mind of judges. Her painting brings comfort to people living in this current age of having a lot of negative news.
She is trying to paint something brilliant that she feels in her heart or something she want to present not using words. Her pastel colored paintings which are painted like in the dream showed us her intimate emotion directly.
