Akiyoshidai International Art Village has supported cultural and philosophical exchange among international artists through the artists in residence program, which has been run every year since its inauguration in 1998. Three selected artists/group have participated in the trans_2009-2010 artist in residence program.
Reception is to perceive, to receive the signal, the process of accepting and also to welcome. Each artist will elaborate the "reception", which they experienced in newly acquired space.
Claire Healy and Sean Cordeiro / artists
Born in Australia, 1971 (Claire) / 1974 (Sean) / Live and work in Berlin, Germany
Claire and Sean, living and working in Berlin and Sydney, are the installation artists, who have worked on the various projects while exploring the issues of namadism, space invasion, transformation and impermanence. At AIAV, the pair has worked of the installating using 13000 pieces of Lego bricks and reconstructed the images of the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster in 1986.
Valeria Roxana Primost / dancer
