Opened in December of 2004, the gallery name means a "place that delights one's eyes". With the best use of four kinds of spaces with a different scale, Shinjuku Ophthalmologist Gallery provides a wide range of activities including holding exhibitions, for example of photography, installations, and image works of contemporary art, as well as performing plays and various other kinds of events.

Since they value the artist's social responsibility, they try to provide an opportunity for conversation with the artist in a flexible idea and from the same standpoint. The last decade was an era when the system of rental galleries in the Ginza district started declining, and along with this the vigor of young emerging artists also began disappearing from this area. On the other hand, this energy seems to have transmigrated to the Shinjuku area where various cultures now co-exist.

The attempt of Shinjuku Ophthalmologist Gallery to have all expressions of art accepted by society in order to make art become more familiar in our daily life, brings an energy and a stimulation to the space, and resonates with the chaos of this town.

The among the represented artists are Sinzow, Takuya Ikezaki, Mika Tsutsui, Kan Shindo, Mitsuoki, Tae Monma, and Hoshikuzunokirameki.
