IPMU Arts Society is pleased to announce the first group show, Searching for the Other Physics – An Art Exhibition at a Science Lab- by five artists in the newly built IPMU (Institute for the Physics and Mathmetics of the Universe) building. This exhibition presents works of various mediums by Aya Fukami, Yuri Miyake, David Price, Aya Tsuboi, and Yutaka Yamaki. The artists present works inspired by the leading institute, IPMU. Visual culture has a deep influence on human beings' awareness and recognition of the world. In the last few decades, visual images and knowledge of Science are most powerful in shaping unconsciousness of human beings. This unique project searches for the interdisciplinary practices of Art and Science visually. The show aims to search for the crosspoint of Art and Science in the alternative art space at a science lab. IPMU Arts Society hopes the art works would encourage lively communications among artists, scientists, and visitors through experiencing art works in Kashiwa campus, the University of Tokyo. Open for Public: February 25 (Thu), 27(Sat) 2010, 11:00-19:00 Admission Free * The text provided by IPMU Arts Society.
