An independent 3 dimensional work of paper folding which is composed by a unit of colorful paper each rounded like a roll. It exists as an independent 3 dimensional work though a weak material of paper folding fixed only by a stapler. The coloring recalled the painting series "Zero-sum nail" of Kenjiro Okazaki. A novelist, Shin Fukunaga writes a statement "for the solo exhibition of Mr. Tomii” for this exhibition. It was the first time for me to have read such an attractive sentence on Motohiro Tomii. Tomii has produced a solid work using the Fukunaga's text as a material. It shows us a great collaboration of the art and the text. On the back side of the distributed handbill, there is a detailed instruction how to create a 3 dimensional work by using the paper. Why doesn't you oneself try it?
