The image of the exhibition

‘Selection Exhibition Project of Students from Master's Program in Sculpture at the Graduate School of Art, Tama Art University’ includes exhibitions at the gallery in Tokyo. And every year, two excellent students are chosen by the department of sculpture of Tama Art University.

Miho Nagaiwa has been working with the material ‘metal’ and their relationship is like that of one and only best friends talking to each other every day. Through the conversations they have, she continuously searches for what she shall make and also what will be meaningful for her to make. However, what she wants to gain does not seem to reveal itself easily and it actually becomes rather invisible instead. Yet at the same time it becomes more realistic within the artist herself. In this exhibition, we can see an interesting composition of her works including various aspects of her relationships with the metal from different angles and her ways of expressing herself using varied techniques.
