From exhibition works

How many pasts are piled up and how many memories are engraved just in an ordinary scene in front of us? In one sense, by ‘not being able to see them’ we are able to live our peaceful everyday lives.
Kazu;M tries to unfold the traces of the past incidents in the scenes that we see every day. He uses photography as a tool to make these traces emerge into our consciousness.
Just as a long-time exposure seems to have erased the figures of the people, these traces which are still engraved on the printing paper very quietly tell us that they are still there.

This time the artist has visited around the border of Hachioji and Machida. It is a ridge road of hills full of greenery. This walkway is used by a lot of people nowadays yet it used to be a place where the army has used as to practice and test the tanks during the Pacific War.
