Yuki Yoshida, Look for the Silver Lining, 2020

eitoeiko is pleased to announce a solo exhibition ‘Look for the Silver Lining’ by Yuki Yoshida. This show is his fourth exhibition with eitoeiko.
Yoshida creates his world with simple shapes such as circles and lines. His faintest gradation in the dark space represents a way of Japanese painting, as well as his favorites, a paint technique for plastic model of Gundam. Yoshida attempts to combine old and new expression in Japanese history of art.
Look for the Silver Lining is a musical song written by Jerome Kern and lyrics by B.G. DeSylva in 1920. In the recession of those days, the song was a message of positive thoughts. At the time today, it also seems to be a cheering song for us. In the show Yoshida will show a series of hexagon paintings and sculptures.
