Fujisawa City Art Space (FAS) has been holding exhibitions to introduce artists who have a relationship with the Shonan area.

This time, we are presenting Enrico Isamu Oyama (1983-), an international artist who is currently based in N.Y. He graduated from Keio University, in Faculty of Environment and Information Studies (Shonan Fujisawa campus) in 2007, then completed his masters degree in Tokyo University of the Arts.

Oyama creates Quick Turn Structure (QTS), the motif with numerous black and white lines flowing and entwining with each other. QTS is the artist’s original creative expression, which he came up with by extracting only flowing lines from the visuals of aerosol and marker writings.

Prior to this exhibition, Oyama spent time as an artist in residence creating his works in the Residence room at FAS.

We hope you enjoy viewing the traces on the wall of his dynamic body movements, with QTS dominating the space as if it were alive. The artist explores a new style of exhibiting, along with the completed artworks, there is the temporary studio that he constructed for making, exhibited to show the traces of the creating process as an artwork itself.
