Galerie Tokyo Humanité is pleased to announce INOUE Masayuki's solo exhibition of maquette, preliminary models made of cardboard or steel. Inoue uses cardboard to cast his ideas into shape instantly as opposed to ceramics which needs many processes and hours. Inoue is famous for his large ceramic sculptures by assembling small ceramic parts with bolts and built up a large work. In his last exhibition with us last year, Inoue showed the tallest sculpture, 2.3m high, ever exhibited indoors.

Inoue (b. 1957) earned his master's degree at Tama Art University in Tokyo in 1985 and now serves as a professor of ceramics. His sculptures are collected by numerous museums including The National Museum of Modern Art (Tokyo), Princessehof National Museum of Ceramics (the Netherlands), Victoria and Albert Museum (London), among others.
