From exhibition work (maquette)

Takahiro Okubo is now working on his painting based on a theme or an issue that the final goal of modernism painting is not just all-over painting but it may actually be hiding possibilities of a new creative development.
He captures the flat expansion of all-over painting as a creative expansion that contains infinite living turning points according to its non-organised structure. The problem is how one can influence the possibilities that can create different contexts that are hiding there.
This time he paints all-over painting firstly on the regular hexagon then divides that into regular triangle and isosceles triangles, and re-connect them so that each piece will spread into 3dimensional directions. The important fact here is that the first painting is not made by regular repetitions like woven fabric but like the felt that is an outcome of sequences of infinite changes. In this case nowhere is a repetition. Therefore even this act of geometric divisions and re-connection seems regular and segmental, we gain visual experiences filled with changes and diversity from encounters between elements and 3dimensional perspectives that were born as results.
