MUKOYAMA Yutaka, Not Sleeping Even at Night, 2018, oil on wooden panel, φ120cm

Galerie Tokyo Humanité is pleased to announce MUKOYAMA Yutaka's solo exhibition of new works entitled Predator・Puddle. Mukoyama often paints sea animals which he keeps and observes at home if he can obtain them. Those animals are painted very realistically but with subtle fictitiousness--a tiny salmon fingerling is enlarged and painted on a large panel, for instance. Mukoyama is interested in the natural world and living things in it and shows respect for them in his paintings.

Mukoyama (b. 1984) studied painting at Osaka College of Art and had his solo exhibition in our gallery for the first time in 2005 followed by solo exhibitions in 2008, 2010 and 2014. Mukoyama's exhibition history includes MUKOYAMA Yutaka Solo Exhibition, Chai Gallery in Heyri Art Valley, Korea (2009), 30th Outstanding Rising Artists Exhibition, Sompo Japan Museum of Art, Tokyo (2011), From the Terada Collection: 053 Laughter and Humour, Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery, Tokyo (2015) and numerous other exhibitions.
