Installation view, Galerie Tokyo Humanité, August 2004

Galerie Tokyo Humanité is pleased to announce Kiyoshi KAWASHIMA's solo exhibition entitled Drawings: 640 grams of Ash. This exhibition will showcase new large drawings by pencil as well as a 2.2m high work on paper with a steel frame that was exhibited in the collection exhibition in our gallery in 2004.

Kawashima (b. 1951) is known for his sculptures composed of massive materials including steel, lead, wood, and plaster. Drawings and other two-dimensional works are also considered as sculptural works composed of such materials as paper or board rather than plan drawings of sculptures.
