Galerie Tokyo Humanité is pleased to present NAKAIGAWA Yuki's first solo exhibition in our gallery. Nakaigawa makes a large-scale ceramic sculpture which consists of numbers of small parts with similar but slightly different shapes. Included in this exhibition will be a new 2.5m sculpture which she piles rounded parts formed by hands.
Nakaigawa received her M.A. from Tama Art University in Tokyo in 1986. Her sculptures are in collections of many museums including Asian Art Museum in San Francisco and Ibakaraki Ceramic Art Museum in Japan. She also works on commissioned works for public and private clients. A two-person exhibition with INOUE Masayuki, a ceramic artist and her partner, held in our gallery in 2016 was highly acclaimed.
