The „Double Line” project is a continuation of a Polish-Japanese artistic cooperation that started during the International Triennial of Contemporary Drawing in Wrocław in 2016. As a part of the project a pair of events is going to take place in Tokyo and Wrocław in September and December 2017. The artists invited to take part in the initiative are members of collectives operating in both cities. Both Drawing Lab from Wrocław and Art Trace Collective from Tokyo are artistic groups dealing with issues at the crossroads of drawing and other media in the context of urban space and in relation to the historical and present-day affairs of a city. The concept assumes that the Polish artists are going to create their projects specifically for the Art Trace Gallery interior. The artwork presented during the exhibition will utilize not only the rudimentary function of drawing i.e. fast and accurate notation on paper, cardboard or canvas, but also activities involving physical space, site-specific objects and video installations, activities at the crossroads of music and drawing. It is highly engaging and inspiring for us to observe how the two exhibitions in Tokyo and Wrocław are going to be different and how they are going to be received by the public. The project will be summarized by a publication describing all the prepared events. http://www.gallery.arttrace.org/201709-double-line.htmlInformation Provided by: ART TRACE GALLERY Period: September 15,2017 (Fri) 〜 October 10,2017 (Tue) |
