eitoeiko is pleased to announce an exhibition ‘The Peak’ by Anibal Catalan. Anibal Catalan (b.1973, Mexico) studied architecture at Universidad Anahuac and art at La Esmeralda. Catalan has exhibited his work internationally in galleries and museums in Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Peru, the United States, Canada, Germany, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Finland, Russia, Turkey, China, Korea and Mongolia. This exhibition is his first solo exhibition in Japan.
In the world of art by Catalan, the space expands and contracts like breathing. It looks as if a city repeats creation and destruction. Viewer can overlook the scenery from the sky or can stop the motion of the activities. The characteristic sense of colors accentuates the structures of the world.
At the exhibition ‘The Peak’, the artist attempts to make the relation between a natural form of elevation and greatness by one side, as well as, Architecture as a growing and expanded field that invades space with his paintings, works on papers, video and sculptural installation.
