From exhibition work

The unit of Kourin Moriya & Hiromi creates different kinds of visual effects by the lightness of ‘play’ and simple works using hands, and they present art works that develop possibilities of abstract expressions. Their recent works include shadow pictures which were interwoven by floating objet in a water basin and filming of a video of paint marbling, and they create non-predictable infinite changes of colours and forms.

This exhibition involves video works again and it is an experiment to convert people’s daily views into abstract paintings. Perspective drawings have a focus and to look from that point brings the depth and expanse into the screen, but what happens if there are more than one focal points? ‘Colour Play Vol 2’ was born from such questions. While using digital media, analogue hand works create physical reality, and it moves our sensitivity deeply.
