《 Love is hidden in the woods. 》 2016, Acrylic on cotton, 1940×2606mm

Nakatsugawa Hiroaki has been making painting works by line drawing using blue-violet paint. His drawing always strongly impresses us with his physical nature, which resists the order assembled by knowledge and information, and this conflict between physical nature and intelligence drives his drawing thrillingly.

At this exhibition, the forest which he sees every day becomes the theme. The forest - the mysterious space fraught with the infinite changes that trees weave - seems exactly to be a manifestation of the universe itself, every part of which is also a perfect world filled with free vitality of nature.

“ We are supported and kept alive by everyday scenery which is commonplace like the air, and in that scenery we will find our own memory and sense of pain, that is what I must draw.” says Nakatsugawa.
